There he took both illustration and fine art classes and was honored when his figure drawing teacher, Casey Fitzsimons, included a couple of his pieces in her book, Serious Drawing.
After graduating from the Academy, he worked as a freelance illustrator and did work for a San Francisco sign company, Back to the Drawing Board, painting character signs for businesses--many of which are included in the book Grand Entrances: Jazzy Storefronts in San Francisco.
Today, Edward is busy painting full-time and prefers to work in a loose, realistic style in oil. His subjects include portraits (both human and pets), landscapes, still lifes, and figurative paintings of people engaged in everyday activities. He also accepts commissions and his work is owned by collectors throughout the United States. Edward strives to expand his craft by taking workshops with other artists, including Ken Auster and Camille Przewodek, whom he admires for their wonderful work and technique. A few of his other favorite artists include John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, Anders Zorn, Edward Hopper and Paul Oxborough. Edward is a member of the San Leandro Art Association, and his work has been shown in the San Leandro Museum and Library.
